Sibling Rivalry!

Last Sunday we got in the pool again and when we came in I put Kae in an outfit and put her to bed. Later I dressed Ize in dark clothes to go play outside on the swing set. When we put them together we noticed that a sibling rivalry had spawned. Here is the evidence.

Can I just say the Izebelle's hair is finally getting long. Here is a picture taken when Kae was born (7 months ago).

Isn't that drastic when you look at the one above it? I'm so happy. It looks so cute in pig tails. She eventually pulls them out, but it does look cute.

Well, so the rivalry continued when I made Ize a bow I found online. I went to the Disney Channel website and they had a print out for a Minnie Mouse bow. So I cut it out and hot glued it to a clip and put it on Izebelle. She loved it. She kept walking around saying 'Minnie'. Later I made one for Kae by threading some string through one. Needless to say Ize was ticked. She reached up and touched the one on her head to see if it was still there, then started screaming 'Minnie' and demanded Kae's be removed. I'm laughing typing this because it just seems so absurd to get so upset about something like this. But I remember being young and a sister and getting mad about something as simple as this. I guess its my fault for not telling her it wasn't Minnie's only bow.

Here's hoping the fights stay as simple as this, even through the teenage years.

One other thing I would like to mention.

Marty turned 30!!!

Marty's birthday was the 7th. We stayed home, grilled burgers, had his favorite cake (funfetti) and basically just had some quality family time. It was a terrific (4 day) birthday weekend.

Lawn and Pool

We bought a swimming pool for the girls the other day and decided to bring it out today before it started to rain. They looked so great in their bathing suits. Unfortunately the water was pretty cold and the storm moved in quickly, so we didn't play too long. We still had fun though.

All Things Adorable

I love to hear other people talk about their kids. It might stem from the fact that I like to talk about mine too. I love to hear about milestones reached and cute things they've done. Just as long as its consistent with all things adorable and doesn't become a competition.

So, to continue, I would like to say how proud I am of Izebelle. Her speech therapy goal is to be able to say 50 words and say two word sentences. Today she said "mama help." She can say about 35 words so far and she has until August to learn the other 15. She also learned to say her Bs and Ps. We've been working on getting her to say those sounds for almost nine months. We're so excited.

Kaelie is starting to growl and make sounds. Pretty soon Marty will be living with three chatty females. Pray for his sanity.

What We've Been Up To, Pt. 3

I promise this is the last part of these postings. I mostly just have a couple random topics and pictures, so on with the show.

First I want to mention that I've lost a total 10 pounds. I'm excited and hopeful that I'll lose the last 15 before the pictures in 2 1/2 months.

I also want to mention that Kaelie was weighed and charted today and she weighs 15 pounds 10 oz and is 25 3/4 inches long. Both of which put her in the 50 percentile. She is average for her age and the complete opposite of Ize. I love how unique both of them are already.

I had a great mother's day. I got terrific gifts. I also got to rest, which was awesome. Mostly I was reminded of how blessed I am to be a mom. It was three years ago this month that I got pregnant with Izebelle. I cried so hard when the test came back positive because I couldn't believe it. Joy overwhelmed me and it still does every time I see her smiling face.

I am so in love with my little family.

What We've Been Up To, Pt. 2

As I mentioned in Part 1, we went to Utah on an extended weekend. We left Thursday, drove most of the day and then returned home on Tuesday. Its about an 8 hour drive. Unless you have two little ones. Then it becomes a 9 1/2 hour drive. The driving was brutal, but totally worth getting to see all of our friends. We hung out with so many great people and Izebelle made so many friends. It was an amazing vacation. My only regret is that we didn't take more pictures with everyone we saw. We did take some good ones of Ize at the mall and her with Colin (he's the son of the friends we stayed with).

We went to the Zoo this past friday. I love going there. Except this time it was so crowded. There were four school districts and a ton of families. Way too many people for us. Luckily we had our own private Zoo viewing in our neighborhood. There was a full grown male fox in our neighbor's yard hunting as we were getting ready to leave. He just stood there and stared at us, then he killed a rabbit and took off. It was awesome. Marty decided his name should be Jasper and we agreed it suits him.
