Our Denver Zoo Membership

In April I convinced Marty that it would be financially beneficial for us to get a zoo membership and he gave in agreed. The pass seriously pays for itself after about 4 visits. We also get to take a guest in for free every time. So our friends who have children under three years old don't have to pay at all. Its been fun getting to take the girls almost every week and getting to take our friends as well.

Its been a lot of fun. We've enjoyed every trip. Its getting hotter, so if its up to me the visits may slow down. But considering Izebelle asks me almost everyday whether we're going, I'm pretty sure our visits won't slow down anytime soon.

Birthdays and Baptism

Recently we celebrated Jeff's 20th birthday and Marty's 31st. Their birthdays are only weeks apart and both were spent quietly at home.

We also recently celebrated Jeff's baptism this past month. He started taking the discussions in April and quickly gained a testimony. Marty had the honor of baptizing him.

The past few months have been very good to us. I'm excited to see what the future has in store for all of us.

Cake Class

In April, I took a level 1 cake class with my mom. It was fun and very informative. Unfortunately it was also expensive. So I didn't move onto level 2. Maybe some day, but at the moment I'm enjoying using my new found skills.

I need to just keep practicing. Which in not good news for our waistlines, but so far there are no complaints.

Spring Fun

I'm surprised its already summer. I keep wondering where spring went and at the same time I'm wondering when fall will get here because its been so hot in Colorado.

We did enjoy spring while it was here. In early April we went outside and played during a brief snow storm. The snow only lasted for a day, but we made sure we took advantage of it. We didn't really play outside this past winter, but based on how much fun they had I'm guessing we'll be taking the time to go outside this coming winter.

A few days later we celebrated Easter. It was a really wonderful day. We went to church, then had my mom over for dinner and an egg hunt. The girls loved hunting for the plastic eggs about as much as they loved eating the contents of the eggs. It got pretty competitive, but we had a lot of fun. We ended the night by dying hard boiled eggs together. It was a memorable holiday.

Another thing we did this spring was potty train Izebelle. Honestly it wasn't that hard. She was totally ready and hasn't had that many accidents.

Most of our time was spent going to school or going to the zoo. It went by too fast, but life always feels fleeting when you're chasing after two energetic girls.
